Weddings

With four principal rooms, formal gardens, and the option of a marquee, Hill Place can accommodate weddings for parties of 40 up to 200. For a small wedding of perhaps 50, the ceremony could take place in the morning room; guests could celebrate with drinks in hall, move to the dining room for food and finally fill the drawing room with dancing.

Will and Rebecca will be there every step of the way to ensure the wedding, civil partnership or blessing is perfect. They will happily accommodate your wedding planner and caterers or offer personal guidance and their catering partners. Fruit can be supplied from the family’s own orchards.

Hall: Jewel in the crown of Hill Place’s four principal rooms is the stunning stone staircase that descends to the hall. All rooms, the hall, morning room, drawing room and dining room are multi-functional but the hall is particularly suited to the bride’s entrance, canapés and photograph opportunities. With a roaring fire it makes a particularly charming room for winter weddings, seating approximately 50 and accommodating up to 60 celebrating with drinks.

Morning room: The morning room with three windows in a bay, Georgian painted floral ceiling, open fire and glorious views of the park is ideal for a receiving line with a flight of stairs descending straight on to the lawn.

Drawing room: The traditional Georgian drawing room also enjoys striking views across the park and has the added benefit of a piano. 60 could be seated for a wedding.

Dining room: Yellow is the dominant theme of the dining room where the parkland views are reflected in an enormous mirror.

The library is also available for anyone who wants or needs a quiet room.

The two acre formal gardens are being redesigned by noted landscape artist Alex Foster. For larger weddings a marquee seating up to 200 can be arranged.
